Individual Psychotherapy

You might be wondering if psychotherapy is for you.

Something doesn’t feel right. You’re tired of trying so hard and still being left thinking '“Is this what life is meant to be?”. It just feels overwhelming and exhausting. As hard as you try you don’t feel good enough.

And it’s almost impossible to imagine feeling differently.

Well, things CAN be different.

I’ve experienced it first hand and fostered it over and over again in the people I get to work with. When you work through the things holding you back, life can be joyful and fulfilling.

To help you get there, my role is to create a safe, collaborative and understanding space. And to walk alongside you as you challenge deeply held beliefs, explore unheard parts of yourself and rebuild the neural connections that shape your experience.

So how does therapy work?

In our work together, I take a body-oriented, trauma-informed and attachment-based approach. What that means for you is moving beyond the shallow “quick-fix” models of cognitive training to true emotional healing and lasting change.

We work together to access the earliest formed parts of the brain that influence our states of arousal and use the processes of neuro-plasticity to promote healing from the inside out (Polyvagal Theory).

Focusing on body sensations and awareness (Somatic Psychotherapy) will help move you beyond emotional and cognitive roadblocks to create new healing experiences.

All parts of you are welcomed and held and understood. The parts of yourself you’ve locked away or rejected will have an opportunity to share their story (Internal Family Systems Therapy). So you get to feel fully integrated and truly connected to yourself.

As we create a safe, empathic and trusting relationship, you get to use the space to build self-awareness and uncover unconscious patterns (Psychodynamic Psychotherapy). This awareness is then the launching pad for change - enabling you to build new skills and resources.

What’s most important is that your journey feels authentic to you. Lasting changes are created when you’re an active participant in your own healing.

So this is YOUR space. A space for your Self.
